1979 was a simpler time, especially in rural communities. It allowed groups like the Richmond Historical Society to flourish. Young families would spend Sundays walking in the woods. It was not unusual for a “covered dish dinner” or “potluck supper” to precede meetings, or “get togethers”. People exchanged ideas. Shared stories and traditions.
Most recently replaced with our age of electronics, this was the norm for many of the monthly meetings of the Society.
