Visitors to the Schoolhouse

Richmond Elementary School, as a part of their curriculum on local history, used to include a visit to both the Richmond Town Hall and the Bell School.  Both of these buildings are located directly across the street from the school.

Past Archivist, Eleanor (House) Smith,, mother of present Archivist, Patricia (Smith) Millar, would often dress up in period clothing to greet the fourth graders for their annual visit.

4th grade visit to Bell School 1991

In December, 2015, we opened Bell School, on two occasions, for visits of Cub Scout Dens from Pack 1, Richmond.  It was great to share our schoolhouse with children from the area.

Everyone, of course, got to ring the bell!
