The crops have changed, but many of the farms remain.  Sod now replaces potatoes:


However, in 1990 the sale of turf to new construction was directly effected by the drop in real estate sales and new construction:

Many of the farms have been replaced by neighborhood developments, but at least one large dairy farm, Meadowburg,  remains.

Horses also continue to be raised in the area.  Also horse racing has disappeared in Rhode Island, but in 1970, a Wyoming quarter horse was capturing trophies in his breed class.
